The Offender in Child Sexual Abuse Cases | Instructor: Tina Garby, PsyD
To improve the investigation and prosecution of child abuse cases by teaching investigators/prosecutors about the process of child sexual abuse from the offender’s point of view.
Intended Audience: This training is exclusively designed for professionals with duties that include the investigation of crimes involving child maltreatment, such as law enforcement, DCS, and Prosecutors.
Child Abuse within a Religious Setting | Instructor: Rachel Mitchell, JD
This training will help law enforcement and religious leaders better understand their roles and responsibilities in child abuse cases by imparting legal requirements.
Intended Audience: Religious professionals and volunteers, law enforcement, forensic interviewers, county attorneys, DCS Investigators, family service professionals, and medical professionals.
Interviewing Child Abuse Suspects | Instructors: Jenn Paxson and Dan Caputo
This training focuses on the legal issues and techniques of interviewing adults suspected of committing child abuse, and is designed to improve the investigation and prosecution of child abuse cases by teaching investigators interview techniques that gather the greatest amount of reliable information. Some information regarding interviewing juveniles suspected of child abuse is also included.
Intended Audience: This training is exclusively designed for professionals with duties that include interviewing suspected victims of child maltreatment, such as law enforcement, DCS professionals, professionals with the Office of Child Welfare Investigations, and Prosecutors.
The training is 8 hours. Each course will offer AZPOST Continuing Education Credit.
