OBJECTIVE: This two-day course is designed to improve the investigation and prosecution of child physical abuse, child sexual abuse, and child homicide cases by teaching investigators investigative, medical investigative, and charging best practices that are child-sensitive, developmentally-appropriate, and legally-defensible.

 

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: This training is exclusively designed for professionals with duties that include interviewing suspected victims of child maltreatment, such as law enforcement, DCS professionals, and prosecutors.

 

Note: Participants have the option of attending one or both days. Participants will have a one-hour lunch break on their own each day.

 

Day 1: Basic Investigation of Physical Abuse

Day 2: Basic Investigation of Sexual Abuse

Presented by Cindi Nannetti, JD; Phil Hodgkins, and Dr. Kathy Coffman

 

This course will offer 16 hours of AZPOST Continuing Education Credit.
