This convening will focus on the identification, referral and treatment of infants and toddlers who have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and Trauma, or have been exposed to substances in utero. This event will engage participants in creating and implementing a standard of care for infants and toddlers who have been exposed to Adverse Childhood Experiences, Trauma, and/or substances in utero. The day will include a plenary session followed by breakout discussions in which participants will discuss bridging gaps in service and addressing barriers to the implementation of a standard of care.

This event will feature the following plenary speakers:

  • Dr. Maria Manriquez, University of Arizona, College of Medicine – Phoenix 
  • Dr. Sydney Rice, University of Arizona
  • Molly Strothkamp, LMSW, of Southwest Human Development
  • Dr. Chandra Ghosh Ippen, University of California, San Francisco

 

Who Should Attend?

We welcome professionals from across Arizona in the fields of early intervention, health, and social work, including nurses, medical doctors, behavioral health practitioners, social workers, infant mental health specialists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists, feeding specialists, early childhood home visitors, DCS professionals, AZEIP professionals, and all those who work with infants, toddlers and their families.

 

What is the Cost?

The cost of registration is $60/person, which includes breakfast and lunch. Your agency has already submitted a purchase order for your registration fee.

 

Hotel Scholarships Available

We are offering hotel scholarships for the night of Tuesday, September 24 to any attendee who works more than 50 miles from the DoubleTree Phoenix Tempe, located 2100 S Priest Dr, Tempe, AZ 85282. Hotel scholarships will be offered until Thursday, August 22. Anyone who registers for this event after that date will not be eligible to receive a hotel scholarship.

CEUs

Although all attendees will receive a certificate of attendance noting 6 training hours, no specific CEUs will be offered.
